Bayswater Mews

A single new build mews house replacing two semi-derelict mews houses in Bayswater.  This was a sensitive response to the Conservation Area context – following the scale of the neighbouring buildings and using materials to complement the locality, whilst still appearing as a contemporary addition with crisp, modern details.

Through thoughtful internal planning, the new house is surprisingly spacious.  A beautifully warm bespoke oak staircase with a large skylight above brings natural light into the lower floors.  The red “rubber” bricks and oak garage doors give a warmth and depth to the simple design of the façade facing the mews, whilst the rear facade is covered with a lush green vertical garden wall.
